Melaleuca hemisticta Myrtaceae

Form & Size: Shrub 1- 6m high

Distribution: Bowen to Bundaberg, with an isolated population on Mt. Stuart, Townsville, often on cliff-sides

Leaves: Alternate, 42-102 x 6-28mm, oval to narrowly egg-shaped

Bark: Grey, papery to fibrous

Flowers: Red or reddish-pink with distinctly yellow anthers, style slightly longer than the stamens

Flowering Period: March to September

Fruit: Capsules 4-5.2mm wide
