Form and Size: Erect perrennial sedge to 1 metre tall

Distribution: Widespread through Qld. and NSW, often in eucalypt communities, along creeks and in gullies

Leaves: Long, flattened and rough

Flowers: Spikelets in terminal clusters

Fruit:  Dark brown seed heads ripen to a reddish brown or orange colour.
